Giving Day, a 16-hour fundraising event to support the Luther Fund at Luther College, will be held 6 a.m.-10 p.m. Thursday, March 7. The day features a simultaneous 12-hour live feed beginning at 8 a.m. bringing entertainment, engaging stories and information from students, faculty and staff across campus to Luther family and friends across the globe. The community is invited to make a gift, view the live feed and get real-time updates on Giving Day at luther.edu/giving-day.

Area musicians are now invited to enroll for the second semester of the Luther College Community Music School. Luther’s music education students are gearing up for the spring session of LCCMS which is open to anyone in the Decorah area.

Luther College sustainability invites the Decorah community to a series of hikes and walks in the natural areas of the Luther campus. The excursions, part of Luther’s new Land Care Outreach program, are open to the public with no charge for admission.

The community hikes take place on Friday afternoons, and participants meet in the first floor study lounge of Sampson Hoffland Laboratories on Luther’s campus. Hikes take place from 4:15 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. on Fridays, Oct. 19, Oct. 26, and Nov. 9. Each hike will take place in a different landscape of the Luther community; Oct. 19 in Lionberger, Oct. 26 at Hickory Ridge Woods and Nov. 9 in Roslien Woodlands.
