Wellness Program
The Nena Amundson Lifetime Wellness Program at Luther College promotes a wellness-supporting environment on campus. It offers individual and group health education. The program also provides services, resources, and initiatives to students and employees.
An estate gift by the late Nena Amundson ’56 makes these wellness opportunities possible. Amundson taught physical education and coached women’s athletics, primarily at California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks.

Making Healthy Choices (BASICS & CASICS)
Brief Alcohol Screening and Intervention for College Students (BASICS) is an evidence-based educational program aimed at addressing problematic alcohol use.
Adapted from BASICS, the Cannabis Screening and Intervention for College Students (CASICS) applies a similar evidence-based approach to help students with problematic cannabis use.

eCHECKUP TO GO
Developed by psychologists at San Diego State University, the eCHECKUP TO GO programs are personalized, evidence-based online interventions designed to motivate users to make positive changes and improve overall well-being and mental health, particularly regarding alcohol and cannabis use.
Nena Amundson Distinguished Professorship
Part of the Nena Amundson estate gift to Luther supports a competitive distinguished professorship. Special consideration is given to proposals that focus on health and wellness issues for women, as they were central to Amundson’s career.
