Dorian Orchestra Festival

February 8-9, 2026

Are you a high school string player? If so, come and participate in the 54th annual Dorian Orchestra Festival! Students are placed in one of two orchestras: the Festival String Orchestra or the select Chamber Orchestra. The Luther College Symphony Orchestra performs for the festival participants during the weekend, and the two festival orchestras perform in a Grand Concert on Monday evening.

In addition to ensemble rehearsals, students will participate in a techniques class and masterclass led by Luther College String Faculty members. Students will also have the opportunity to receive a 20-minute private lesson from a Luther College faculty member. This lesson may serve as an audition to be an outstanding concert soloist, and it may serve as a music scholarship audition for seniors who are interested in attending Luther College.

Registration and Payment Details for the Orchestra Festival

Orchestra Directors: It is time to register your selected students for the Dorian Orchestra Festival on Feb 8-9, 2026!  This is a new process for 2026 and will tabulate your registration fees, any lessons, on-campus housing, and meal tickets. You will have the option to pay by credit card or to indicate that you’ll pay by check at a later date.  Here is Your To-Do List:

1. Register your students  (to be completed by orchestra teachers)
   • Note: if this is your first time logging in to this system, an account needs to be set up for your school. See our helpful guide to registering.
   • Once you have registered and your information has been confirmed, you may revisit and find your details.
2. Have your selected students and their guardians fill out our 2026 Dorian Orchestra Festival Release Form  (to be completed by parents and selected students)
3. Complete our 2026 Dorian Orchestra Festival Emergency Contact Form   (to be completed by orchestra teachers)
