Here’s how to enjoy “Seeking Refuge for a Weary World” from the comfort of your home between Dec. 13 and Jan. 2.

“For a non-Minnesota school to be selected to perform at a state conference is a major coup,” said Mark Potvin, conductor of Cathedral Choir and Norskkor.

This 2024 Homecoming season, Luther College continued the tradition of presenting the Weston Noble, Dr. Carlo A. Sperati and Hemp Prize awards, which recognize musical excellence and achievement among students and alumni.

This year’s theme is “Seeking Refuge for a Weary World” with music performed by hundreds of Luther student musicians, including multiple choirs, the Luther College Symphony Orchestra and a student jazz combo.  

Founded more than 25 years ago, Imani Winds have led both a revolution and evolution of the wind quintet through their vibrant performances, bold programming and imaginative collaborations.

More than 600 middle and high school students took part in a variety of music and other programs during their time on Luther’s campus. 

The Luther College Jazz Orchestra is traveling to Brazil May 20 through June 5, where the group will perform concerts and participate in workshops in the country with prominent musicians, dancers and artists. 

Luther College Nordic Choir will tour Norway May 20 through June 3. The tour will celebrate the choir and Luther’s Norwegian roots, as Luther was the first college in the U.S. founded by Norwegian immigrants.  

Small Island Big Song, a collective of renowned First Nation musicians from across the Pacific and Indian Oceans, will perform for Luther College’s Center Stage Series at 7:30 p.m Tuesday, April 23, in the Center for Faith and Life Main Hall.

The Luther College Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Daniel Baldwin, will perform across the U.S. for their spring 2024 tour. The orchestra will perform a homecoming concert in Decorah on March 26.
