Christmas at Luther 2024 shines on digital streaming starting Dec. 13

Luther College’s award-winning annual Christmas at Luther performance will inspire and delight audiences through video-on-demand (VOD) streaming starting Friday, Dec. 13.

Conductor Adrianna Tam invites audience members to stand and sing during the dress rehearsal for Christmas at Luther 2024 “Seeking Refuge for a Weary World” on Dec. 4, 2024.

VOD tickets may be purchased online at tickets.luther.edu starting today, Dec. 10. Each ticket has a unique link and is emailed to the ticket holder after purchase. Audiences have the opportunity to watch the full 2-hour performance at a time and date that’s convenient for them and from the comfort of their homes. On-demand streaming is only available through Jan. 2.

The 2024 Christmas at Luther’s theme is “Seeking Refuge for a Weary World.” The performance features Aurora and Collegiate Choir conducted by Adrianna Tam, Norskkor and Cathedral Choir conducted by Mark Potvin, Nordic Choir conducted by Andrew Last, Symphony Orchestra conducted by Daniel Baldwin, Luther College Jazz Combo made up of four student-musicians, and college organist Alexander Meszler.

The Christmas at Luther 2024 CD is available for pre-order at the Luther Book Shop or online at lutherbookshop.com. The Christmas at Luther 2024 ornament is also available to purchase at the Book Shop or online.

Selections from “Seeking Refuge for a Weary World” will be broadcast on the following dates and times:

  • KGAN CBS 2 Cedar Rapids, Iowa: Dec. 21, 1–2 p.m.
  • WOWT Omaha: Dec. 22, TBD
  • KARK 4 Little Rock, Arkansas: Dec. 24, 2 p.m.
  • KIMT News 3 Rochester, Minnesota/Mason City, Iowa: Dec. 25, 5–6 a.m.
  • WGEM Quincy, Illinois: Dec. 25, 5–7 a.m.
  • KAIT/ABC Region 8 News Jonesboro, Arkansas: Dec. 25, 6–7 a.m.
  • KTIV News 4 Sioux City, Iowa: Dec. 25, 6–7 p.m.

In addition, the 2023 Christmas at Luther recording will air on MPR regionally and on yourclassical.org at 7 p.m. on Dec. 4.

The Twin Cities PBS will broadcast a special presentation of the 2023 Christmas at Luther on the following dates:

  • Dec. 13, 9 p.m.
  • Dec. 14, 3 a.m.
  • Dec. 24, 8 p.m.
  • Dec. 25, 2 a.m.
