Admissions Process for U.S. Students Living Abroad
Each year we welcome U.S. students who have been living abroad. We value the unique perspectives our “third culture students” bring to campus. Applications for U.S. students living abroad are reviewed by the International Admissions Committee under the international admissions timeline.
To be considered for admission as a U.S. student living abroad, you must submit the following:
- Common Application—including the essay/personal statement.
- Essay/personal statement, included in the CommonApp.
- One letter of recommendation from a teacher, counselor, coach or advisor.
- Original or certified copies of your secondary school transcripts.
- SAT or ACT*: OPTIONAL. If you submit your scores, they will be included as part of our holistic application review process.
- Optional Interview: Applicants are invited to an interview with Luther College admissions, as one of the final parts of the admissions process.
*Luther College also allows students to submit self-reported test scores for admission purposes. All students are eligible for academic merit-based scholarships regardless of whether or not they choose to submit a test score.
