Luther College Center for Intercultural Engagement and Student Success will host their annual Kwanzaa festival featuring the talents of students of African descent. This event coincides with the BSU's 50th anniversary celebration.

Luther College senior Claire Hamilton traveled to Brittany, France to intern at an organic vegetable and dairy farm called Ferme Bio D'Enez, where she was able to focus on improving her French skills and learn about sustainable farming practices in France.

Luther College junior Bishal Parajuli spent his summer in Decorah working with the Iowa Natural Heritage foundation, where he maintained and restored native landscapes in Northeast Iowa.

Luther College junior Faye Lee spent her summer interning with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. While there, she focused on donor engagement and fundraising. Specifically, this included researching prospective donors, creating fundraising strategies and publicity for the Global Church.

Luther College professor of English Amy Weldon was nominated by the literary magazine "The Hopper," for a Pushcart Prize for her story "The Serpent."

Luther College invites senior prospective music students and their family members to Luther's admissions event that concludes with a performance of "Every Voice in Concert Ring," the 2018 production of "Christmas at Luther" at 5:45 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, at Luther's Center for Faith and Life Main Hall.

Lena Schmitt, Luther College senior, partnered with Kirk Larsen, Luther professor of biology, to survey moth communities in the planted tallgrass prairie and oak-hickory forest habitats of Decorah, Iowa. This past summer they repeatedly visited six different sites in the community and collected moths to assemble baseline information of the species of moths in Decorah and how their diversity compares between a habitat type.

Luther College’s Norse Athletic Association invites the Decorah community to “The Upstairs” at TBocks Bar and Grill at noon Wednesday, Nov. 14, for the NAA Winter Sports Luncheon.

Emma Schlabach, Luther College senior, spent her summer as a Donor Relations Intern at the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, where she worked in the development department to assist with donor benefits, execute events and help with annual fund efforts.
Schlabach, the daughter of Lori and Blake Schlabach of Indianapolis, Indiana, graduated from North Central High School in 2015. At Luther, she is an English major with a minor in management.

Luther College senior Peter Mathistad will present a saxophone recital at 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, in the Noble-Recital Hall of the Jenson Noble Hall of Music on the Luther campus.
