Luther College senior Joseph Keeley has been awarded a U.S. Department of State Critical Language Scholarship to study Korean for eight weeks this summer at Pusan National University, one of 10 national universities in Korea.

Luther College will host two geologists from the Iowa Geological Survey as they give two public lectures on the topic of the Decorah impact crater at 6:30-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, in the Decorah Public Library and 9:40-10:50 a.m. Thursday, April 4, in Valders Hall of Science Room 206 on campus.

The Luther College Concert Band, one of the Midwest’s touring collegiate wind ensembles, will present a concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, in the Main Hall of the Center for Faith and Life on the Luther campus. The performance is the culmination of the band’s 2019 Southwest Tour.

Luther College junior Kelly Grba is presenting a vocal recital at 12 p.m. Saturday, April 13, in the Noble Recital Hall of the Jenson-Noble Hall of Music on Luther’s campus.
Both her recital and the reception to follow are open to the public with no charge for admission.

Dr. Jenifer K. Ward, provost and dean of the college for Centenary College of Louisiana in Shreveport, Louisiana, has been unanimously elected Luther College’s 11th president, announced today by Luther’s Board of Regents.

Luther College junior Morgan Kranz of Sauk Centre, Minnesota, spent January Term 2019 as an intern in human resources at Knox Company in Phoenix, Arizona.

Luther College President Paula J. Carlson has announced the appointment of Lisa M. Scott as vice president for equity, inclusion and student success. Scott has served as the inaugural dean for institutional equity and inclusion at Luther since August 2017.

Luther sophomore Conner Kujak of Chaska, Minnesota spent January Term 2019 shadowing five dentists at Dental Association and West Side Dental of Decorah.

Luther College junior Ozvaldo Suarez of Dos Palos, California, spent January Term 2019 working as a translator for Xpedition Archery in Decorah, Iowa.

Luther College senior James Conway of Mount Horeb, Wisconsin, spent January Term 2019 shadowing at Gundersen Health Clinic in Decorah, Iowa.
