• College Ministries Mission:

In the spirit of Beloved community, we: Welcome everyone. Work for justice. Walk with students in their journey of faith and learning.

College Ministries at Luther

College Ministries welcomes everyone, regardless of their religious commitments. We walk with students in their journey of faith and learning through accompaniment, both personally and through meaningful program offerings. We work on behalf of the common good by getting involved in justice issues through advocacy both on and off campus.

You are invited to connect with Pastor Melissa Bills for faith conversations, spiritual care, or just to get acquainted.

A College of the Church

The Office for College Ministries reflects and helps shape Luther College's institutional identity as a college of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. College Ministries reflects the ELCA posture of "rooted and open," meaning that our grounding in our Lutheran heritage allows us to value open inquiry about faith, life, and the world. The expansive welcome of the ELCA extends to our office - whoever you are and whatever you believe, you are welcome here! Learn more about Luther as a College of the Church.

Reconciling in Christ

Responding to God's reconciling work, the Luther College Student Congregation is a Reconciling in Christ Congregation (RIC), affirming our welcome to people of all sexual orientations and identities to participate fully in our ministry.  The student congregation joined the RIC roster in 1995. “Welcome one another therefore, as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God.”  Romans 15:7

The Reconciling in Christ program is a ministry of ReconcilingWorks: Lutherans for Full Participation. Since 1974, ReconcilingWorks has advocated for the full welcome, inclusion, and equity of LGBTQIA+ Lutherans in all aspects of the life of their Church, congregations, and community.

Mission: In the spirit of Beloved Community, we welcome everyone, work for justice, and walk with students in their journey of faith and learning.
