A digital microfilm reader and high resolution scanner are available for all to use in the Microfilm Area on the main floor of Preus Library. The instructions found below are also posted in the microfilm area.
Selecting the File tab gives you the option to print or save the captured images.
The Epson scanner can scan opaque (paper) and transparent (slides, negatives) materials. Several trays for loading different types of materials are found in the rack next to the scanner.

EPSON Scan will open in “Home Mode,” which allows the user to easily select the type of material to be scanned, and will apply common default settings. If more advanced control is desired, change to “Professional Mode” in the upper right corner of the EPSON Scan window.
The File Save Settings window allows you to select the location and format in which to save your scanned images.
To print a scanned image, double-click the saved file to open the image in its default application. Image files (JPEG, TIFF, BMP) will open in Windows Photo Viewer. PDF files will open in Adobe Reader.
