'Music in the Shape of a Pear': Luther College to host semi-annual music event

The Decorah High School Concert Choir will join seven Luther faculty and six Luther students for the Luther College semi-annual "Music in the Shape of a Pear" concert. Steve Smith, Luther composition and electronic music faculty member, will direct this spring's concert at 8 p.m. Sunday, March 17, in the Noble Recital Hall of the Jenson-Noble Music Hall on the Luther campus.

The Luther College Symphony Orchestra will present an early spring concert at 4 p.m. Sunday, March 17, in the Main Hall of the Center for Faith and Life. Symphony Orchestra is conducted by Daniel Baldwin, professor of music and director of orchestras at the college.

Gabriel Weisberg, professor of art history at the University of Minnesota and the country's foremost expert on the Barbizon School, will deliver the Luther College 2012-13 Gerhard Marcks Art History Lecture at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, in Room 102 of the Franklin W.
