Luther College announces lawn-spraying day

Luther College will spray the lawns with herbicides to provide well-maintained, visually attractive grounds for Luther students, employees and visitors, and to control undesirable weeds on athletic fields. Weather permitting, the date for spraying is the evening of Friday, Oct. 14, with Saturday, Oct. 15, and Sunday, Oct. 16, set as back up days as needed.

Cast of Spotlight.

Religion department to present religion forum Oct. 25

The Religion department will show the Academy Award winning film, "Spotlight," from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25 in Olin room 102. A discussion led by religion department faculty will follow the showing of the film. "Spotlight" is the compelling true story of the Pulitzer Prize-winning Boston Globe investigation that challenged and uprooted one of the world's oldest and most trusted religious institutions.

Luther's Lea Lovelace named Outstanding Higher Education Art Educator

The Art Educators of Iowa announced Lea C. Donhowe Lovelace, Luther College art faculty, as the 2016-17 Outstanding Higher Education Art Educator. This prestigious award, determined through a peer review of nominations, recognizes outstanding achievement and contributions in previous years to the field of higher education within the state of Iowa. The award will be presented at the AEI Conference Sept. 30-Oct. 3 in Burlington, Iowa.

Luther College presents 'Twelfth Night' performance

Luther College's Visual and Performing Arts department presents William Shakespeare's "Twelfth Night," Oct. 6-8 in the Jewel Theatre in Luther's Center for the Arts. Performances are at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 6th, 9:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 7th, and at 1:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 8th.
