'Things We Do Not Say' art exhibit to be displayed

"Things We Do Not Say, " an art exhibit featuring the work of wedded duo Jordan Acker Anderson and Josh Anderson will be on display from Oct. 25 to Dec. 9 in the Kristin Wigley-Fleming Fine Arts Gallery in the Center for the Arts on the Luther College campus.

The artists will speak about their exhibition at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2, in Room 203 of Luther's Center for the Arts, with a gallery reception from 3-5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 3. Both events are open to the public with no charge for admission.

"Things We Do Not Say" features sculptures, prints and paintings made specifically for the Luther show. Some of the pieces are the result of collaborative work between the two artists while other pieces are made individually but with a shared sensibility for the exhibit.

According to the artists' statement, the art "points to the distance between comfort and vulnerability. Our work embodies the area lying beyond the strict limits of what we hold."

Acker Anderson is associate professor of art and the Art and Graphic Design Chair at Mount Mary University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Anderson is assistant professor of art and the Marian Art Gallery Director at Mount Mary University.
