Luther College celebrates Fall Community Day Sept. 12

Luther College invites alumni, parents and friends of the college to enjoy a full day of food, fellowship, fun and sports at the 2015 Fall Community Day beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, in the Regents Center on the Luther campus.

This event is sponsored by Bank of the West and Luther College.

Registration is required. The picnic and football game costs $5 per person. Register at or by calling the Alumni Office at (563) 387-1164 or (800) 225-8664.

As part of the registration process, parents can reserve free "GO NORSE!" game pass t-shirts for their children which will allow free admission to all regular 2015-16 Norse athletic events. Available while supplies last.

Festivities begin with a women's tennis match versus the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh at 9 a.m. at the Luther College tennis courts on lower campus.

Community Day also features the All-American Cross Country Invitational held throughout lower campus. Junior high students will compete at 9 a.m., high school students will compete at 9:30 a.m. and college students will compete at 11:30 a.m.

A picnic lunch catered by U-2 BBQ begins at 11:30 a.m. in the Circle Drive of the Regents Center. The Luther Cheer Squad will give away free Norse tattoos and the Norse Baseball team will host activities and games for kids.

Following the picnic, the Luther football team will kick off against St. Olaf College at 1 p.m. at Carlson Stadium.
