Faculty Artist Series: Luther's Jacob Lassetter to perform vocal recital Oct. 3

Jacob Lassetter, Luther College assistant professor of music, will perform a baritone recital at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3, in the Noble Recital Hall of the Jenson-Noble Hall of Music on the Luther campus.

The recital is open to the public with no charge for admission.

Lassetter will perform a vocal concert, performing sacred works from the 19th century to the present, in German as well as English. The concert will include works from composers Johannes Brahms, Dorian Le Gallienne and Carlisle Floyd.

Jessica Paul, Luther professor of music, will collaborate on the performance on piano.

Lassetter has performed internationally in such venues as Chicago's Orchestra Hall, the Salt Lake Tabernacle and New York City's Carnegie Hall. Companies he has recently performed with include Opera Theatre of the Rockies, Peninsula Music Festival and Music by the Lake.

Lassetter holds a bachelor's degree in music, magna cum laude, from Louisiana State University, a master's degree in music from the University of North Texas, and a Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. He currently serves as assistant professor of voice and opera at Luther College.
