'Full of Grace and Truth': 'Christmas at Luther' performances Dec. 5-8 at Center for Faith and Life

Luther College will present the 2013 production of "Christmas at Luther" Dec. 5-8 in the Center for Faith and Life on the Luther campus.

Moving holiday music, more than 600 musicians, and glowing candlelight capture the wonder and joy of the season as Luther College's nationally and internationally acclaimed music ensembles mark 31 years of sharing the seasonal gift of music with this annual concert.

The concert, with its traditional holiday carols and sacred Christmas choral anthems, includes performances by Nordic Choir under the direction of Allen Hightower; Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Daniel Baldwin; Cantorei under the direction of Linda Martin; Cathedral Choir and Aurora under the direction of Jennaya Robison; Collegiate Chorale and Norsemen under the direction of Andrew Last, and the Luther Ringers under the direction of Gregory Peterson, who will also serve as the organist for the performance.

Tickets for the shows are sold out, with the exception of the Friday, Dec. 6, performance at 9:15 p.m. Each year, more than 8,000 people attend the Christmas performances on the Luther campus.

The visual power and majesty of the 2012 "Christmas at Luther" concert will be presented to television audiences by Twin Cities Public Television in high-definition and 5.1 Dolby surround sound. The concert will be broadcast at 8 p.m. Central/Mountain or 9 p.m. Eastern/Pacific Thursday, Dec. 19, on most PBS stations nationwide. Broadcast times on public television stations across the country will vary; check local listings. This performance was nominated for a Regional Emmy Award last year.
