2002 graduate of Trinity University
Prior to Luther, he served as the assistant men’s soccer coach and recruiting coordinator at Trinity University. During this stretch Trinity University made six NCAA Tournament appearances and three semifinal appearances, winning the national championship in 2003, and finishing second in 2007

Returned to Luther after serving three years as the assistant coach for the Boys U19 soccer team at Shattuck-St. Mary’s School in Faribault, Minnesota, where he played his high school career from 2008-11.
While at Luther, he made 56 appearances that included 53 starts as a defender and was named all-conference and third team All-North Region
He helped lead the Norse to a three year record of 41-15-4, a conference championship in 2013 and a NCAA III National Tournament appearance that same year
Following his playing days at Luther, Gray III was an assistant coach for the men’s soccer team for three years
