JD Davis ('15) Studies the Norwegian Philosophy of Incarceration

Social Work Major JD Davis ('15) got the opportunity to travel to Norway through the Imagine Fellowship program in June 2014. Greatly interested by the U.S. prison system, he used his month to travel abroad to Norway to compare Norway's incarceration system to that of the United States.

Luther's Holm and Kovacovich named Peace Scholars

Luther College juniors Emily Holm and Katie Kovacovich have been selected as Peace Scholars for the 2015-16 academic year. The pair will spend seven weeks this summer studying peace and conflict resolution in Lillehammer and Oslo, Norway.

Social Work Major, Alexandra Lohrbach ('15), attended Iowa N.E.W. Leadership Institute, May 19-23, 2015 at the University of Iowa, where she had the opportunity to listen and speak with many female leaders in all areas of the public sector - from legislators to teachers to non-profit directors.

Meeting with Summers ’67 Sparks Ea ’12 Trip to Cambodia

Sally Ea ’12, a social work major from Maplewood, Minn., and her father, Houkling Ea, toured the ancient temple Angkor Wat during a nearly month-long trip to Cambodia last summer. It was Ea’s first trip to the Asian nation—and her father’s first return trip since immigrating to the United States from Cambodia 30 years ago.
