Luther College Sustainability presents Land Care Outreach
Luther College sustainability invites the Decorah community to a series of hikes and walks in the natural areas of the Luther campus. The excursions, part of Luther’s new Land Care Outreach program, are open to the public with no charge for admission.
The community hikes take place on Friday afternoons, and participants meet in the first floor study lounge of Sampson Hoffland Laboratories on Luther’s campus. Hikes take place from 4:15 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. on Fridays, Oct. 19, Oct. 26, and Nov. 9. Each hike will take place in a different landscape of the Luther community; Oct. 19 in Lionberger, Oct. 26 at Hickory Ridge Woods and Nov. 9 in Roslien Woodlands.
The Land Care Outreach program began over the summer in coordination with the Natural Areas Land Management at Luther. The students taking part in the program aspire to connect their fellow students and the rest of Luther College with the outdoors.
A national liberal arts college with an enrollment of 2,005, Luther offers an academic curriculum that leads to the Bachelor of Arts degree in more than 60 majors and pre-professional programs. For more information about Luther visit the college’s website:Â http://www.luther.edu
