Luther College received a grant of $2,000 from the American Legion of Iowa Foundation in support of scholarships for veterans and members of their families.
Foundation representative Dennis Soppe (center left) presented the grant check to Jeanie Lovell, Luther College senior director of corporate and foundation relations (left), along with Emma Wingad ’20 (center right) and Keenan Feldpausch ’20 (right), the two Luther students who will receive these scholarship funds.
The American Legion of Iowa Foundation scholarships help address the growing need for support of veterans and their families currently serving or returning from recent service.
Since the founding of the college in 1861, more than 1,500 Luther students, faculty, staff and alumni have served with distinction in the U.S. Military, U.S. Reserve and National Guard units.
