Google researcher Craig Cornelius '74 to speak on 'An Iowa Farmboy in Silicon Valley' Sept. 29

Craig Cornelius, a 1974 Luther College graduate and former college professor, will speak at Luther about computer science and his experience working for Google. His presentation will be Wednesday, Sept. 29 at 7 p.m. in Room 102 of the Franklin W. Olin Building.

Cornelius' lecture "Computing Beyond CS—An Iowa Farmboy in Silicon Valley," is open to the public with no charge for admission.

Cornelius holds the bachelor's degree from Luther and the doctoral degree from Stanford University.

He taught at Luther in the chemistry and computer science departments, then returned to California for more school, academic research and industrial software development.  

Now in the International Engineering Team at Google, Inc., he is visiting campus to discuss opportunities at Google and to share some experiences and lessons learned from computing outside the classroom.
