Luther improved to 1-1 in the Iowa Conference thanks to a 3-1 victory over Nebraska Wesleyan University tonight in the Regents Center. The Norse tallied an attack percentage of .272 and also recorded 15 ace serves during the win. Set scores were 25-16, 21-25, 25-15 and 25-23.
Emma Veum led all attackers with a match high 16 kills. Veum had an attack percentage of .714, with only one error in 21 attempts. Veum holds the single match attack percentage school record of .727 set against Grinnell College in 2015. Morgan Towne also reached double digits with 10 kills. Anna Larson was next with nine and Karissa Kime was credited with seven.
Natalie Cote led the squad with 14 digs and Towne also reached double figures in the category with 10. Towne, Larson, Kime and Sam Sixta all had three ace serves. Sixta also dished out a match high 41 assists.
Luther is now 9-6 overall. NWU fell to 1-2 in the IIAC, 7-8 overall.
Luther hosts Buena Vista University tomorrow afternoon. Start time is slated for 1:30 p.m.
