For the third time this season Luther defeated an opponent 9-0. This afternoon the Norse defeated the Saints of St. Scholastica in White Bear Lake, Minn., and improved to 4-1.
Luther jumped out to a 3-0 lead after doubles and proceeded to win all six singles matches in straight sets. The No. 1 doubles duo of Anders Jensen and Nate Parsons won 8-6. Brian Murman and Cole Schneider at No. 2 won 8-2 and the No. 3 team of Jake Smith and Ryan Ortega were victorious 8-5.
In singles play, Grant Morton won 6-4, 6-4 at No. 1. Jensen posted a 6-2, 6-0 victory at No. 2. Schneider won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 3, as did Murman at No. 5. Parsons posted a 6-1, 6-1 decision at No. 4 and Brook Norwood won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6.
Tomorrow Luther travels to Winona, Minn., and will face UW-La Crosse at 2:30 p.m.
