Luther hosted Coe College and Loras College today at Oneota Golf & Country Club. The Par 72 measured 6507 yards. Luther and Loras entered two teams in the field, thus turning the triangular into a five team tournament.
Luther won the tournament shooting a one-under 287. The Norse finished 29 strokes ahead of Loras College that finished at 316. Coe and the Loras Gold team finished tied for third at 324, and the Luther White team finished at 335.
Individually, Brandon Dorans was medalist carding a three-under 69. Dorans finished his round going four under on the final four holes that included a eagle on the par 5 15th hole.
Jay Felstul was second with a one-under 71 and was followed by Ben Phipps who shot 72. Skyler Gish shot 75 and finished in a tie for sixth, while Julian Olson finished eighth with a 76 to complete the Norse five.
The white team was led by Chris O'Brien who shot 78. Adam Suelflow was next with an 82 and was followed by Carson Hagen with an 85 and Matias Parada with a 90.
Today marked the first time the Norse have played at home since May 5-6, 2017. Luther hosted the final two rounds of the Iowa Conference Championships that year and won the team title by nine strokes over Simpson College.
Tomorrow, Luther will travel to the La Crosse Country Club and play in the 18-hole Viterbo University Invitational. Tee times begin at 11:30 a.m.
