Luther hosted Nebraska Wesleyan University for its home opener this afternoon in the valley. The Norse rolled to a 9-0 victory and remained undefeated in American Rivers Conference play improving to 3-0.
The Norse lost just two games in doubles play and won all six singles matches in straight sets.
In doubles, Lexi Hastings and Sofia Sackett won (8-1) and No. 1. Stephanie Almquist and Anna Spencer posted the same score at No. 2. Megan Grimm and Natalie Neff son (8-0) at No. 3.
Devon Bourget, Kylie Dunning and Hope Gray posted (6-0, 6-0) straight set victories at No. 2, No. 4 and No. 6 respectively. Shelby Cook at No. 1 (7-5, 6-2), Natalia Smith at No. 3 (6-0, 7-5) and Sydney Clausen at No. 5 (6-1, 6-0) also won in straight sets.
Luther's next action will be at home on Saturday, Oct. 3 when it will host Simpson College at Noon and Buena Vista University at 3:00 p.m.
