The Luther College Philharmonia will present a concert on April 23 at 7:30 PM in the Center for Faith and Life. The program will include works for string orchestra by Vivaldi, Respighi, Bartok, Colerige-Taylor, and Holst. This event will be live streamed and can be viewed on the Luther College Music Department YouTube Channel.
The Luther College Philharmonia is a symphonic ensemble that performs regularly on campus in concert. Recent repertoire has included Beethoven’s Egmont and Coriolan Overtures, Copland’s An Outdoor Overture, Dvořák’s New World Symphony, and Ginastera’s Dances from Estancia. Faculty soloists are often features on Philharmonia programs.
Philharmonia is directed by Spencer Martin and auditions for the ensemble are held annually.
