Bach's Goldberg Variations are known as a tour de force for keyboard players. Originally written for a 2-manual harpsichord, this work has been often performed on piano and organ. Numerous other arrangements of this music exist, including this arrangement for string trio by Sitkovetsky. This virtuosic arrangement, made in 1985 for the 300th anniversary of Bach's birth, has become standard fare for string trios the world over.
