November 3-5, 2022
In Into the Woods, a witch’s curse condemns the Baker and his Wife to a life without children. They embark on a quest to find the four items required to break the spell: the cow as white as milk, the cape as red as blood, the hair as yellow as corn, and the slipper as pure as gold. Will they succeed? And what happens after “happily ever after?”
“I could not ask for a more passionate and talented cast to be a part of for my senior year musical! Audiences can expect an incredible show with unexpected twists and turns from stories everyone has heard growing up,” said Emily Rubbelke, a senior involved in the production.
This fantastical show follows the stories of the fairy tales you know and love; Cinderella, Jack and the Beanstalk, and Little Red Riding Hood to name a few. However, Into The Woods puts a complex and dark twist on these classic stories and intertwines them together in ways you’d never expect; where witches and bakers are next-door neighbors, and prince charming isn’t quite so charming. Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s beloved musical brings to life classic fairytales with a contemporary edge.
“Into The Woods has been a wild ride so far, this is easily the most complicated show that I have been a part of. That being said, this cast and set of directors has an immense amount of talent and dedication that will drive this show to be bigger than we thought it could be,” said Sam Sunderland, who will be playing the Baker.
Tickets go on sale through the box office two weeks before the opening performance. Performances will be held in Jewel Theatre.
