Decorah residents can sign up for assistance with yard work and household chores
Volunteers from Luther College's student congregation will help Decorah residents with spring chores on Saturday, April 13 during the annual Spring Fling community service day.
Luther students will help Decorah community residents with yard work, planting, light housework, cleaning garages, installing screens, cleaning windows and other spring chores.
A group of students will be assigned to go to each home for 1.5 hours, either in the morning or afternoon on April 13.
The volunteer work schedule will give priority to Decorah residents who are elderly or handicapped, but any resident who is in need of Spring Fling help may participate in the project. There is no charge for Spring Fling services, but donations are greatly appreciated.
All donations to Spring Fling will be divided between the Decorah Free Clinic and the Northeast Iowa Peace and Justice Center.
Decorah residents can sign up by contacting Luther College Ministries, (563) 387-1271 or [email protected]. Deadline for registration is Monday, April 8. Residents requesting Spring Fling assistance should provide a brief explanation of the spring chores they would like accomplished during the allotted 90 minutes.
