'Buried Above Ground'

An Iraq War veteran, a survivor of domestic abuse and an evacuee from Hurricane Katrina share their stories of survival and shine a light on what it's like living with and recovering from post-traumatic stress disorder in the documentary "Buried Above Ground." The screening and discussion of the film is 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday, April 12, in the Franklin W. Olin Building, Room 102, on the Luther campus.

Former Fulbright "Roving Scholar" Andy Meyer will present the Gjerset lecture at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, in Olin Room 102 on the Luther campus. The lecture, titled "The Milk Route and Other Habits of Mind," is open to the public with no charge for admission.

Born the son of a famous Israeli general, Mike Peled grew up as a Jewish Zionist in Israel. Following the death of his niece at the hands of a Palestinian suicide bomber, Peled went through a process of self-discovery, questioning what he'd grown up believing about Israeli policy about Palestine.
