Luther College senior Becklin completes summer research on sandpile model

Proving that playing in the sand isn't just for little kids anymore, three Luther College students spent their summers in Decorah playing with virtual sand, using computer simulations to replicate growing piles of sand. The simulations were used to play out certain aspects of number theory, a field that has been studied for thousands of years.

Leadership for Community Health Improvement regional workshop announced for summer 2016

Luther College Center for Sustainable Communities, in partnership with the Northeast Iowa Food and Fitness Initiative, announced plans to host community leaders from throughout the Midwest with an interactive three-day workshop, Leadership for Community Health Improvement. The goal of the program is to share best practices in community health innovation to bring about improvement initiatives to enhance the health and wellness of local communities.

Luther student displays artwork March 16-April 11

"Illuminate," an exhibit by Luther College senior Abbey Syme of St. Paul, Minnesota, focuses on the use of light and projections on frames, canvas, paper, gels and plexiglass to explore memories and their intangible nature despite human attempt to preserve them through pictures and repetition. The exhibit will be on display March 16-April 11 in the Gregerson Gallery at Luther's Center for the Arts.

Luther College announces fall 2015 Dean's List

Luther College's fall 2015 Dean's List includes 706 students; 128 freshmen, 148 sophomores, 188 juniors and 242 seniors. To be named to the Dean's List, a student must earn a semester grade point average of 3.5 or better on a 4.0 scale and must complete at least 12 credit hours with 10 hours of conventional grades (A, B, C, D).
