Rob Larson, Luther College executive director of marketing and communications, has announced that Mallory Marlatt will serve as the college's acting director of music tours and marketing from Nov. 19 to Feb. 21.
Marlatt will serve as acting director during the maternity leave of Jennifer Self, the college's coordinator for music organizations and marketing since 2008. Self has served in the college's musican organizations office since 2005.
Marlatt will coordinate the performance tours of the college's Nordic Choir and Jazz Orchestra.
Marlatt, from Elgin, Iowa is a 2010 graduate of Luther, earning the bachelor of arts degree in music. During her years at Luther she worked for the Dorian Music Festivals and Camps as an assistant coordinator.
As a Luther student, she was a member of Nordic Choir, Habitat for Humanity and the college's Performing Arts Committee. She participated as a performer and backstage hand in three opera productions at Luther and received the Weston Noble Music Scholarship and an academic achievement award.
Marlatt has worked as a volunteer with college and community service organizations, including the annual College Ministries Fall Fling and Spring Fling community clean-up days and the Elgin community's Maize Maze.
