College Ministries to conduct annual Fall Fling Oct. 24

Oct. 6, 2009

Luther College student volunteers will help Decorah area residents with fall house cleaning, repair and winterizing chores Saturday, Oct. 24 when Luther College Ministries conducts its annual Fall Fling community assistance day.

Luther students will provide assistance with light-duty household work, including yard raking, house and yard cleaning, gutter cleaning, installing storm windows, washing windows and similar tasks.

Luther College Ministries’ Fall Fling services are offered to any area resident in need of assistance. Work schedule preference is given to requests from persons with disabilities, senior citizens and others with special needs.

To schedule workers for the Oct. 24 Fall Fling or to sign up to participate, contact Luther College Campus Ministries, telephone (563) 387-1040, by Monday, Oct. 19.

There is no charge for the Fall Fling services.  Fall Fling volunteers will accept donations for their work, and all donations received will be equally divided between two social services organizations: the Free Clinic in Decorah and Lutheran Services in Iowa.
