Symphony Orchestra to perform homecoming concert Feb. 3

The Luther College Symphony Orchestra will present a tour homecoming concert of works by Wagner, Elgar and Tchaikovsky at 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 3 in the Center for Faith and Life, 700 College Drive, Decorah, as the last stop on their January 2013 tour.

Freeman, Luther College Orlando W. Qualley Chair of Classical Languages, translates the political wisdom of Marcus Cicero in this, his latest book.

Professor Marv Slind to lecture on 'The Race to the South Pole'

Marvin Slind, Luther College professor of history, will give the presentation "Scott and Amundsen: The Race to the South Pole" at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, in the F.W. Olin Building, Room 102. The presentation is in conjunction with an art exhibit currently on display in the Center for Faith and Life through Jan. 23.

Luther to host fourth Oneota Film Festival Jan. 18-20

The fourth annual Oneota Film Festival has announced that is will present 10-15 sets of films including international award winners, as well as panel discussions with filmmakers, specialists and experts. The fourth annual event, which focuses on the critical issues of our time, is set for Jan. 18-20, hosted by Luther College.

Luther College receives grant from Thrivent Financial

Luther College receives $19,500 grant to conduct 'listening posts'

Luther College recently received a $19,500 grant from the Thrivent Financial for Lutherans Foundation. The grant enables the college to conduct a series of focus groups, called "listening posts," in cities throughout the United States to gather firsthand feedback regarding Luther's recent comprehensive campaign and future efforts to strengthen a culture of philanthropy.
