Julie and Sue send warm greetings from Decorah!
Julie writes: The winter of 2013-14 made many of us question why we live here. The mercury in the thermometer stayed burrowed like the groundhog, afraid to see its shadow. There was no mere blanket of snow this winter, instead, a stack of lumpy snow mattresses covered the ground! And the winds howled louder than a pack of wolves under a full moon. The weather offered ample fodder for conversations with friends and strangers alike: Below zero, again? Did you see those drifts?
