Gerdin Fieldhouse for Athletics and Wellness

Projected Cost: $24 million
Progress: $16.2 million committed (as of 3/11/2025)
At Luther College, students are at the heart of all we do. Our campus becomes their home for four years. When we say “Welcome to the Valley,” we are committed to providing a learning environment where we strengthen not only our minds but our bodies and well-being. This is true for all who enroll at Luther, especially our student-athletes. Modernized spaces will energize our sports and recreation programs and propel them to the next level of competition and wellness.
Renovation Goals
- Modernize athletic facilities on par with American Rivers Conference (ARC) and DIII peers to appeal to prospective Norse and better reflect the outstanding quality of Luther’s academic program and athletic tradition
- Create more gathering spaces for students to study, meet, and socialize
- Revitalize our recreational spaces and locker rooms as an investment in the physical health and wellness of all students and the extended Decorah community
In November 2023, Luther announced a $10 million commitment—the largest individual gift in our history—toward the renovation of the Regents Center. Thanks to this extraordinarily generous gift from Mike ’92 and Nicole Gerdin and the Gerdin Charitable Foundation, this facility will be renamed the Gerdin Fieldhouse for Athletics and Wellness.
Now is our time to accelerate this renovation—and you can help make it happen!
