Commencement

Sunday, May 21 at 9 a.m.

The Luther College 2023 Commencement ceremony was held in Carlson Stadium at 9 a.m., Sunday, May 21.

The ceremony is a ticketed event. Each graduate is allowed up to seven tickets. On-campus graduates may pick up their tickets at the Grad Finale on March 8 and 9 in the Dahl Centennial Union lobby. Mid-semester graduates, student teachers, and Rochester nursing students will receive their tickets in the mail. Tickets for students studying abroad will be sent to their parents.

Commencement Details

Caps and gowns (as well as commencement tickets) will be available at the Grad Finale. Graduates unable to attend may have a friend pick up their cap, gown, and tickets. After the Grad Finale, caps and gowns may be picked up at the Luther College Book Shop.

Guests without tickets will be able to view the livestream of the ceremony in the Center for Faith and Life Main Hall and in Marty’s, on the lower level of Dahl Centennial Union. The livestream will also be accessible for remote viewing online on this web page on May 21.

In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will be held in the Regents Center. Call (563) 387-1731 after 6 a.m. Sunday, May 21, for weather-related announcements. Should the ceremony be moved to the Regents Center, five tickets will be valid per graduate; other attendees are invited to view the ceremony on a large screen in the Center for Faith and Life.

At the Commencement ceremony, guests with mobility challenges and their families may use their tickets to sit on the Carlson Stadium track. There will also be a limited number of alternative seats for persons with mobility challenges and their families on the Dahl Centennial Union terrace. Contact the Ticket Office at (563) 387-1357 for more information.

If a guest is in need of sign language services, contact the Campus Programming Office at (563) 387-1538 in advance.
