Luther College News

The new Luther College curriculum includes fewer required credits and gives students more flexibility to pursue their interests and passions within their Luther education. It also fulfills the college’s goals to provide a more skills-based curriculum.

Luther College’s website (luther.edu) received the Award of Excellence in the category Website Redesign at the 29th annual Communicator Awards. The Communicator Awards is an annual competition recognizing the best in advertising, corporate communications, public relations and design.

“The Nelson Woodlands project taught me the importance of restoring floodplains from an ecological perspective, as well as the importance of involving and educating the community on these practices,” said land stewardship intern Josie Meyer, who is majoring in environmental studies and biology.

Luther College announces that 11 students received scholarships through the TRIO Achievement Program for the 2023-24 school year.

More than 600 Luther students made the Dean’s List for spring 2023.

More than 600 high school and middle school students attended, up from 500 students in 2022.

The three Luther alumni “represent a forward-looking mindset with a love and respect for the way their own Luther experience shaped them,” said President Ward.

“This season highlights one of Luther’s core values: understanding ourselves and the world by being both grounded and global,” said Kristen Underwood, director of campus programming.

“At Luther, we have a long tradition of preparing students for a future in the various disciplines of engineering,” said Todd K. Pedlar, professor of physics. “In our new program, we’ll serve such students even more completely.”

Luther’s first-year tenor and bass choir was the only college choir selected for this competitive convention.
