Christmas at Luther, a renowned celebration of music, has been part of Luther College holiday tradition for 38 years. Now Luther is sharing select clips from this year's concert "Christmas at Luther 2019: Whom Angels Greet with Anthems Sweet" for all to enjoy.

Whether you couldn't make it to the show or you are looking to relive the moving performances, these videos are one way Luther hopes to share holiday greetings. Visit www.luther.edu/christmas-at-luther/excerpts to enjoy the voices and instrumentation of hundreds of talented Luther musicians.

In addition to the newly shared videos, an audio version of Christmas at Luther will be broadcast on Iowa Public Radio at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 24, and at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 25.

Recordings of this year's concert, as well as previous year's, are also available at the Luther Book Shop and online at www.lutherbookshop.com.

Each year more than 8,000 people attend "Christmas at Luther."  The concert showcases the talents of more than 500 musicians participating in Symphony Orchestra conducted by Daniel Baldwin, professor of music; Nordic Choir conducted Andrew Last '97, director of choral activities and associate professor of music; Luther Ringers conducted by Shayla Van Hal '16, interim college organist; Cathedral Choir and Norskkor, conducted by Mark Potvin '01, instructor in music; and Aurora and Collegiate Choir, conducted by Jennaya Robison '96, associate professor of music.

Luther is home to one of the largest collegiate music programs in the nation, with five choirs, three orchestras, three bands, two jazz bands and more than 800 student musicians. Luther students participate in large ensembles, faculty-coached chamber groups, private lessons and master classes. Nearly 275 music majors study music theory, ear training, history, education, composition, jazz, church music and performance.
