“Dr. Bacon brings a passion for supporting the holistic development that students should experience, inside and outside of the classroom, at residential, liberal arts colleges,” said President Brad Chamberlain.

Luther College is one of a select group of private liberal arts colleges in the United States with a chapter of Phi Beta Kappa.

The Young Alumni Award recognizes the outstanding achievements of Luther alumni in their vocation or avocation who have graduated in the last 15 years.

“I feel honored that my classmates picked me,” said Kaasa, a double major in elementary education and Nordic Studies.

The Concert Band last toured Japan in 2010 under the late Fred Nyline, its longtime director, and this year’s trip builds on that history.

The Luther admissions team reported that marketing is a program of “high interest” with students.

The “Called Outward: Exploring Skills for Faith-Based Leadership” program is funded through a two-year $40,000 grant from the Council of Independent Colleges’ Network for Vocation in Undergraduate Education.

Their papers examined an exciting array of works, from Virginia Woolf to Sudanese author Leila Aboulela to a popular HBO series.

Between 20 and 50 NICC students will have the opportunity to live on the third floor of Larsen Hall.
