Luther dropped a 13-7 decision to Carleton College this morning in Tucson, Arizona.
The Knights jumped out to a 10-0 lead after four frames before the Norse scored two runs in the top of the fifth. Carleton added three more in the fifth and Luther scored twice in the sixth and three times in the top of the eighth, before the rains came down and the game was called complete.
Ryan Bahnemann had three of Luther's 12 hits, going 3-for-4 at the plate. Chris Reynolds drove in two runs as did Daniel Schoess.
Matt McKinney was credited with the loss allowing seven runs on seven hits in 3 1/3 innings of work.
The loss drops Luther's overall record to 1-3, while Carleton improved to 4-3. The Norse will play Carthage this afternoon weather permitting.
