The Luther College Phi Beta Kappa chapter will welcome 43 current students into membership at the annual induction ceremony Saturday, May 20, at 4 pm in Jensen-Noble. Along with the students, alumni Dr. Lori Stanley (’80) will be inducted.
In her distinguished career at Luther College. Dr. Stanley served as professor, department head, Jones Professor, study away leader, and Assistant Dean and Director of Faculty Development.
As a scholar, Dr. Stanley’s practice of applied anthropology has directly benefited both the academic discipline of anthropology and the various communities involved in her research. She has published widely in topics such as forensic anthropology, language preservation, indigenous rock art, and sacred landscapes.
Dr. Stanley will give the Ruth A. Davis memorial address.
Phi Beta Kappa is a national honor society. The Eta of Iowa Chapter at Luther College was established in 1983.
