This concert is in celebration of the life and work of Peter Schickele (1935-2024). Dubbed by the New Yorker as “a latter-day Haydn…the one American composer whose name makes everyone smile,” Mr. Schickele was known as a composer, satirist, performer, recording artist, radio host, and also as the fictitious composer PDQ Bach (1807-1742).
This program, a collaboration of colleagues from around the music department, includes the music of PDQ Bach and other composers that honor Peter Schickele’s legacy. Hopefully, it will provide a welcome breath of levity to our department’s offerings.
Luther College music faculty will perform a recital in honor of the great conductor, PDQ Bach. Their recital will take place in the Noble Recital Hall at 4:00 p.m..
