Video-on-demand tickets may be purchased online at tickets.luther.edu. Each video-on-demand ticket has a unique link and is emailed to the ticket holder after purchase. The ticketholder has the option to watch a full-length version of the performance, which includes all musical selections, narrations and audience hymns, at a date and time that’s convenient during the hectic holiday season. On-demand streaming is available through Jan. 2.

Each year, Christmas at Luther features a different theme and music, performed by hundreds of Luther student musicians, including multiple choirs, the Luther College Symphony Orchestra, organ and Brass Ensemble.

This year’s theme is “Fling Wide the Door!” and the theme’s inspiration comes from a hymn of the same name.

“As Christ calls us to welcome the stranger, the hymn reminds us not to observe restraint and peer through a cracked door. Rather, we open the doors enthusiastically and without caution to celebrate the arrival of the birth of Christ,” said Andrew Last, artistic director of Christmas at Luther and director of choral activities for Luther College.
