Faculty Artist Series: Beth Ray-Westlund, mezzo-soprano

Beth Ray and Nicholas Shaneyfelt will present works by Respighi, Monteverdi, Florence Price, Lori Laitman, and Iowa State composer Jodi Goble. Dr. Ray will be assisted by three of her current voice students (Bella Dassow, Carlie Prymek, Katherine Strum). Each student will sing an 18th-century Italian art song from a standard teaching collection, and Ray will sing the same songs, ‘reimagined’ by 21st-century composers.
