Dr. Richard L. Torgerson became Luther College’s ninth president in July 1999. Prior to coming to Luther, he served in faculty and administrative positions at five church-affiliated liberal arts colleges, all but one being a college of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. The President reports to the college’s governing body, an elected 30-member Board of Regents. The Board establishes policy and provides oversight for all business and financial affairs. The day-to-day management of the college is vested in the President and six vice-presidents.
