Diversity Center

Diversity At Luther

Who We Are

The Diversity Center was created in 2003 following student activism and the work of a task force that recommended that the College’s commitment to diversity ought to be made more public and visible. It was determined that a formal and well-staffed office was necessary if the college was to have a centralized, constant, and authoritative voice for diversity concerns.

The Center moved to its present location in the Dahl Centennial Union, suite 113 in 2006. It currently has four full time staff--Executive Director, Director of Student Services, International Student Coordinator, Program Assistant -- and student workers.

The Diversity Center is:

  • the voice, leadership, and visibility for diversity;
  • a place of welcome for all;
  • and a resource for faculty, staff, and students and the Decorah community.
