Dear Classmates,

It dominates the valley as you approach the College from Highway 52.  It stands tall and bright with three arms swinging as if to say “look at me.”  It converts wind into electricity.

In Holland we saw windmills that had helped pump water as the Dutch reclaimed land from the sea.  But at 210 feet tall, this one dwarfs its Dutch cousins and is named turbo wind.  Made by G.E., this one belongs to Luther College.  Stand below the machine and see the sweep of the blades.
