The Paideia Research Paper

Paideia is Luther's version of a First Year Seminar - every freshmen takes the class for their entire first year. Paideia is a common course, meaning all freshmen students are reading the same books at the same time, and all freshmen students have papers due on the same day. Second semester Paideia is famous for its research paper, which is due next Monday!

I'll be honest and say that I was horrified of gaining the Freshmen 15 prior to arriving at Luther, so I thought I'd share some of the great things Luther/Decorah has in place to keep the Freshmen 15 from occurring.

Interim = Over

It's amazing the difference a week makes - I'm officially done with my first J-term, and am packed and ready to return home to refuel for second semester!

The Middle Week

The middle mile of my high school cross country meets was always the worst: my adrenaline was fading from the start of the race, I was beginning to feel tired, and I knew I had a long way to go before crossing the finish line. I mentally checked out, and my pace constantly suffered because of it. The second (and middle) week of interim is proving to be much the same for me.

Back to School

Christmas break went by much to quickly, and I am back at Luther getting into the swing of my first J-term.

Christmas: Here We Come

I read today that December 12th marks the halfway point between the beginning of December and Christmas. While the first twelve days of December were spent pouring over books and stressing out about finals, I am more than ready for the next twelve days to be spent baking cookies, wrapping presents, and watching TV.
