West Side Early Childhood Center Receives National Certification as Nature Explore Classroom

On Nov. 5, the West Side Early Childhood Center, located in Decorach, earned national certification as a Nature Explore Classroom from Dimensions Educational Research Foundation and the Arbor Day Foundation. West Side Early Childhood Center joins a growing network of organizations and institutions that have created effective nature-based outdoor learning environments for children. This network allows for idea-sharing, peer support and continuous development.

TED - Ideas Worth Spreading

TED Talk - Tuesday, October 8 at 7 pm

TED Talk - Tuesday, October 8 at 7 pm there will be a TED Talk in the Mott-Borlaug Room in the Union. The talk is entitled "We the People and the Republic we Must Reclaim" by Lawrence Lessig, and it focuses on big business influence in politics. Professor John Moeller will be proctoring a thoughtful discussion after the talk. Refreshments will be provided.

Søren Hermansen of Denmark will be in Decorah on Oct 3rd to present on the energy self-sufficient island of Samsø, Denmark.  The lecture "The Great Transition – Starting Now! Experiences from Denmark on the Renewable Energy Island, Samsø" will take place in Olin Hall room 102 at 7pm.
